These works are created using a custom ASCII converter that I coded specifically for this project. Printing the coded outputs on old media places the digital process in direct contact with physical material that has already lived a life. The code produces a structured, systematic result, while the surface introduces limitations, imperfections, and signs of age. The converter is not designed to create perfect representations. Instead, it allows for loss, distortion, and repetition, which reflect how information changes when it moves across systems and formats. Together, the works explore how digital processes interact with material reality, and how authorship and decision-making remain present even in automated or coded systems.
